Location
Brighton’s Open Market was first opened in the 1880’s when barrow boys began selling fruit and vegetables in Oxford Street. This provided a source of cheap food to people on low incomes. Today, the Market has been redeveloped as a vibrant shopping destination boasting 45 larger permanent market stalls, as well as a new covered market square for visiting markets, temporary stalls, community activities, street art and entertainment.
